My classroom is a great size but it has no storage areas. The building was built in 1925 so we have the old radiators on the south side of the room along with huge windows above them. You cannot even use that side of the room for any storage at all. I would love to be able to walk into the room and get the feeling of cozy and warm not cluttered and crowded. We live in a small rural town of about 200 people so funds are very limited. I'd love a space that kids love to learn!

Effective music classrooms require two essential elements: floor space and storage. The Yolanda "music room" was originally designed as a girls' shower. Tiled shower walls, a raised floor section, a sink, and staff shower all take up valuable space and hinder learning. I have done my best, using my own time and money, to adapt my classroom; bringing in scrounged storage units, installing shelves, and creating furniture. Ideally, I would eliminate unnecessary fixtures, add appropriate storage, remove tile walls, and repaint. Gaining any piece of this request would transform this shower into the music room Yolanda students truly deserve.

I am an exceptional needs teacher at a rural elementary school. The students that I provide services for range from kindergarten to sixth grade and vary in ability. My responsibility is to insure their academic success by providing tutorial services in my classroom. The present condition of this classroom significantly impairs my ability to optimally serve these particular students. Furnishings and technology are terribly out of date and do not readily fit their needs. Unfortunately, funding for renovations or even new desks is not available. A classroom renovation would create a more pleasant and functional learning environment conducive to success.

Funston is a small school located in South Georgia. Our poverty rate is approximately 65%. With our budget, it is hard to receive updated Technology hardware and software for our computer lab classroom. As Technology Instructor/Advisor, I have a genuine passion for educating our youth and integrating technology into all subjects. Our classroom is in need of storage cabinets, updated hardware, software, supplies, bulletin boards, and other technology equipment that will give us a 21st Century classroom. We would forever appreciate a classroom makeover because our students could receive the skills necessary to succeed in the world of Technology.

Why does my classroom deserve a makeover? Because it is difficult at best to use the overhead projector screen and even attempt to look at the NC or US maps. Because I must organize my desks in rows due to the fact that their shape does not easily allow for group work or class collaboration. Because it is hard to have students journaling daily when there is not adequate storage space for every child. And most importantly, because my students' success is my only concern. I want to do everything I can do to promote that! Thank you.
